The Ghana Medical Association (GMA) will meet officials of the National Labour Commission on Wednesday, over the implementation an earlier ruling which will resolve distortions in the salaries of doctors.
The GMA last week embarked on a strike because of government’s failure to implement the National Labour Commission’s ruling to correct those distortions.
During a stakeholders’ meeting at the Flagstaff House last week, the Fair Wages Commission agreed at to abide by the NLC’s ruling.
President of the Ghana Medical Association, Dr. Kwabena Adusei Poku told Joy News today’s meeting will begin the process.
“We want to know how far they’ve gone with the Wages and Salaries Commission and probably with Finance and the payment schedules...”
The next stage now, according to Dr Adusei Poku, is “how to implement the [NLC’s] ruling.”
